The Environment
IHP’s Rethinking Globalization allows students the opportunity to investigate the phenomena commonly referred to as “globalization” through a curriculum that revolves around environmental issues. The Rethinking Globalization program allows students to earn 12 credits (32 credit total) in Environmental Studies over the course of this full year program. Environmental Studies credit can also be earned on IHP’s Cities in the 21st Century program.

Urban Studies/Planning
IHP’s Cities in the 21st Century program offers students an Urban Studies curriculum in which all courses–Economic, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, and Environmental Studies–revolve around the significant issues currently being faced by urban society.

Globalization
What is globalization? Is it something that we should be scared of or embrace? What are its real impacts on people and the environment? These and many other questions related to the phenomena commonly referred to as “globalization” are explored in detail on IHP’s Rethinking Globalization. Questions specific to the relationship of globalization to health and health care will be addressed on IHP’s Health and Community.

Indigenous Issues
IHP’s Nations and Identities engages students in the significant and difficult issues related to struggle for sovereignty, self rule and tribal recognition through an integrated curriculum that includes course work in Philosophy, Political Science, Anthropology and Sociology.

Students interested in earning credit in Anthropology will find unique opportunities on IHP’s Rethinking Globalization, Cities in the 21st Century, Nations and Identities, and Health and Community programs.

Students will find numerous opportunities to investigate issues related to Social Justice and Human Rights through such courses as Comparative Social Movements on IHP’s Rethinking Globalization and Indigenous Movements on IHP’s Nations and Identities.
