International Honors Program
Rethinking Globalization: Nature, Culture and Justice (RG)
The International Honors Program (IHP) seeks Ph.D.-level faculty (or Ph.D. candidates) for an 8-month program of study and travel around the world from September, 2008 to May, 2009.

Itinerary to include: Washington DC, Tanzania, India, New Zealand, and Mexico.  Faculty positions are available to teach complete courses for the full 8 month program or to teach portions of courses as part of a teaching team. 

Courses include Issues in International Development and Economics (8 credits), Anthropological  Field Studies and Theory (8 credits) Ecology and Comparative Conservation Practices (8 credits) and Cases and Issues in Environmental Policy (4 credits).  

The faculty is responsible for developing and teaching their syllabus with guidance from previous IHP courses and faculty.  The program is designed to be interdisciplinary. 
Expertise/field experience in one or more of the countries on the itinerary is preferred, but not essential.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience leading or teaching on field-based courses, and those who have traveled extensively and/or lived in another culture for an extended period.

Class size is approximately 30 students with undergraduate level course work. There are 3-4 faculty members in each country plus local experts. Faculty and students live with host families in each country.
